A real treat for classical music lovers: the summer evening concerts.
Five professional duos and trios will be performing fabulous classical pieces in the historic churches of Den Hoorn, Oosterend, Den Burg and Oudeschild on five Tuesday evenings. Pure and magnificent, with concerts featuring pieces about light and darkness, the beauty of spring, romance, love in good and bad times, as well as the musicians’ own arrangements.
Kicking things off at the first summer evening concert are Emma Roijackers on violin and Riëtte Olthof on piano. They will play pieces from the vast repertoire of the Romantic period for violin and piano. During the second summer evening concert, the enthusiastic romantic ensemble Les Trois Muses will bring an evening of music celebrating the joys of spring. Les Trois Muses consists of soprano Tenar van Kooten Niekerk, Esther de Graaf on flute and Diana de Vries on harp.
The programme of the third summer evening concert is very varied. With pieces ranging from Mozart’s Divertimento in E flat major, 6 movements, to Gideon Klein’s String Trio: Allegro, Lento and Molto Vivace, performed by Marijke van Kooten on violin, Marjolein Dispa on viola and Margrita Rondeel on cello. The following Tuesday evening, soprano Martha Bosch and Wiecher Mandemaker on organ will bring an English summer evening concert, performing songs by Dowland en Purcell about love in good and bad times.
Harpist Merel Naomi and saxophonist Floor Wittink will perform pieces by Claude Debussy and Gustav Bumcke during this summer evening concert. The sounds of harp and saxophone go together beautifully. In addition to pieces written for these instruments, the musicians will also perform music which they arranged.
