Theatre show after theatre show, with wild girls, French chansons, new words, weird and wonderful and impossible to label thought processes, and the exuberant and subdued world of Ramses Shaffy, courtesy of Theater & Restaurant De Toegift (formerly Theater Restaurant Klif 12).

Jazz on the Waves

Den Hoorn will be brimming with performances. Pre-show dinner, relax, enjoy, laugh and cry. You can do it all during the four extra evenings full of theatre.

9 June 2018 - The girls of LOS Muziektheater
Four ‘wild’ girls, who simply refuse to grow up … But it’s high time that the ladies of LOS did just that. In their show Hou je VAST, they are confronted with some important choices. Stability is both a dream and nightmare to these girls. While they try to keep upright as they teeter around in high heels, they stumble from one comical, familiar situation to the next. This is a show overflowing with hilarity, musicality and physicality.

13 June 2018 - Amsterdam – Paris
A special evening celebrating the French chanson … Philippe Elan, Thérèse Steinmetz and Nico van der Linden transport the audience to a small theatre in the heart of old Montmartre, full of intimacy, red velvet, sparkling wine and mood lighting. Thanks to the very personal interpretations of Philippe and Thérèse, everyone in the audience will be able to understand the chansons they perform. Packed away in their little suitcase are chansons by Brel, Aznavour, Fugain, Legrand, Ferrat, Macias and Ramses Shaffy, among others.

23 June 2018 - Cabaret with absurdist Ronald Snijders
One of the Netherlands’ greatest language virtuosos, who isn’t afraid of absurdism … An evening with Ronald Snijders means lots of surprising language jokes, new words, and weird and wonderful and impossible to label thought processes. The try-out Groot Succes 2 is a new show, not yet performed in theatres. Ronald Snijders is the author of bestsellers such as De Alfabetweter, 1000 nieuwe woorden die het niet gaan redden and Kopdicht, a collection of his columns from Het Parool.

28 June 2018 - Guus Westdorp performs work by Ramses Shaffy
‘Surprising, daring, clever and confrontational’ - Jacques J. D'Ancona. With his solo show Ramses - de liederen, pianist and chansonnier Guus Westdorp presents the work by master in the art of living Ramses Shaffy, with whom he hung out for many years. Exuberant, subdued and peppered with anecdotes, he transports you into Shaffy’s world, to fields of passionate romances, but also along Amsterdam canals on nights filled with loneliness and longing. For a brief moment, it will seem as if Ramses walks among us again ...
