Every weekend during Music meets Texel, a new artist or band will tour the island, doing five gigs across the island.
Things kick off in Den Burg, then it’s on to Oudeschild, De Cocksdorp and back to Den Burg, with Den Hoorn the final stop on Sunday. Free admission.
1-2-3 june: Kira Dekker
Kira is known from TV shows De Beste Singer-songwriter van Nederland and The Voice of Holland. Her songs We are fine, Be with you and First hello from her debut album Midnight writings are played frequently on 3FM, Radio 538, NPO 2 and 1. With her lyrically beautiful songs, Kira melts audiences’ hearts time and again.
8-9-10 june: Timo de Jong
Timo de Jong is a driven musician from Meppel who writes and performs timeless pop songs with folk, rock ‘n’ roll and country influences. In 2016, Timo de Jong released two albums and in 2017, his schedule included Eurosonic and a UK tour. With humour and no pretensions, Timo entertains his audiences with songs about the world around him and within.
15-16-17 june: Hoge Noot
Hoge Noot is a cover band with a repertoire of the best songs from roughly four decades of pop and rock music. With a generous dollop of humour, enthusiasm and musicality, singer Josje Dorrestein, keyboard player and singer Mark Huyser, bass player Robert Ruiter, drummer and percussionist Robert Puper and guitar player Rolf Nijman turn every gig into a party.
22-23-24 june: Demi Knight
Demi Knight is known from TV show De Beste Singer-songwriter van Nederland. Demi produces a convincing country sound. A sound made complete by her band, bass player Bram Schrijver, drummer Martijn Soeterbroek, guitar player Sam van Ommen and pianist Jasper Schalks. This is tearjerker country music, for lovers of country and Americana, but with a fresh new take on the genre.
29-30 june - 1 jule: Fixxxman
Rob Hendrikse, better known as Fixxxman, performs acoustic blues, rock and pop covers that have been given the full Fixxxman treatment, alternated with his own work. Straight from the heart. In addition to playing music, Rob also writes his own songs. His debut CD, The road so far, is an overview of his musical journey between 2011 and 2016, with as the pièce de résistance the new version of his own song, The long road.
